The Story of Aino (Finnish Mythology)

Three illustrations based off of the story of Aino in the Kalevala, the Finnish mythology epic.

Väinämöinen approaching Aino about her beauty and jewelry. He was promised by Aino's brother that he can marry her.

Aino goes into the storehouse to look at the clothing her mother wants her to try on to persuade her to get married. She doesn't want to do that and is very upset

Aino resorts to joining the sea maidens in the ocean, grabbing onto a sparkling rock in the ocean. She proceeds to drown.
